Big news guys: I have a functioning computer. Not only that, but I have a steady life schedule, my tripod, and my entire wardrobe back. I'm so excited. I try not to involve too much of my personal life in my blog but I am going to explain my erratic existence for the past few months. When school ended in April I moved myself, with two suitcases, to Vancouver so I could be in the same city as my now ex-boyfriend. I haven't had furniture or much in the way of material comfort for the past four months and I worked a ton to support myself. Oh, and my laptop was essentially defunct.
Now, I'm back at my apartment on Vancouver Island to enter my fourth year of University - starting Wednesday! Excited to debut myself at school, I've been scheming over my First-Day-of-School outfit. And I have a computer which is going to cut my blogging time in half. Things turn out pretty alright!
Okay, so, Lydia and I's blogger meet-ups aren't that exciting anymore as we hang out pretty consistently. Man-oh-man, I love this lady. Well, as a single lady I decided to get glammed (sleazed?) up for the Autolux show. I saw them play six years ago in Vancouver and I've waited anxiously for them to return.I put on my finest lace bodysuit and 50's velvet bow fascinator and off we went with Lydia as my loyal wingwoman.
The show was amazing - albeit short. We were out by ten, which for me, does not coincide with rock-and-roll. Autolux wasn't there for a long time - but they were there for a good time - and I made sure to stand right in front of the stage. At some point a really inebriated fellow shoved his way in front of me. He kept collapsing onto the stage/amps and shoving his butt awkwardly into my lap. One of the band members, Eugene, bent between songs and whispered something in the guy's ear and he went away. Oh, my knight in shoegazing armor!
Oh, and I'm 23 now. Birthday pictures next post!

Gosh you are so brave! I find it hard to sum up the nerve to walk out the door in a sheer blouse without a tank top underneath it and here you are wearing a lace body suit, bra showing and all and yet you still look so damn elegant and classy, so I really don't think there's anything "sleazy" about your outfit, I think it's actually very glam :D
love how you both are wearing bodysuits!!! HURRAY for bodysuits!!!!
Animated Confessions
We are sooo saucy. GAH I lurve you (and miss you already...hence the barrage of texts!)
You two both look amazing!!!! I went to the Dirty Heads concert on Friday and it ended really early too. It definitely feels weird to leave a concert early.
You two ladies look ridiculously stunning, seriously hot outfits!
And yes, I sure do work in a library. And if it is your dream job? I'll mention that at Western, where I got my Masters in good old library science has a one year program = quick and relatively painless :)
Wow perfect outfits for a show! Glad you had a good time!
I enjoy seeing you and Lydia. You girls look so hot and perfect for a night of rock and roll. I've left concerts early, it's such an odd experience.

Happy belated birthday! And I saw these photos on Lydia's blog and wondered where your shoes were from... they're simply wonderful!
Glad to hear things are evening out. xox
I saw that you two had gotten all dressed up for the Autolux show (via Style is Style), and just loved the look you were both sporting. :D Your hat (fascinator?) is so pretty! Hope things stay good. And...
Happy (late) Birthday!

Yours truly,

I'm hoping to come to Vancouver for a visit in the near future. My friends and I are trying to find a house right now to move into and once we get that all squared away I want to make my way North. We'll have to plan a thrifting extravaganza when I come!
and it's not even a question that we would become friends once I move there!! :)
I wanted to comment on how abso-freaking-lutely beautiful you are in the fashion shoot with the boho blouse and the brocade skirt for your designer pal. That skirt is damn statement worthy. There's just something about black and gold... an unspeakable, indescribable glamour. Especially done in brocade!
I love this style. Both you girls are so fierce and ready for music fest/concerts. I have this thing with concert style. It's edgy and 'tude-y, but without being pretentious music snobby.
I love, love, love shredded stockings. They're the best way to reuse ruined clothes, no?
